Passed away on June 12, 2012 at the age of 86. Steve, a lifetime resident of San Pedro was born on November 4, 1925, to Ivan and Ursula Trutanich. He attended 15th Street School, Dana Junior High and San Pedro High School. He was employed as a commercial fisherman, Ford Motor Company, and American Standard before becoming a longshoreman and a member of ILWU Local 13 where he retired in 1989 after 25 years. He also served in the U. S. Army during World War 2. Steve was a member of the Dalmatian – American Club of San Pedro and the ILWU Pensioners Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Anton and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret (nee: Kordich), sons Steve and Mike, sisters Perla Brown & Janie Cracchiolo (Joe) and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at McNerney's Mortuary on Wednesday, June 20 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 10:30 AM at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 877 West 7th Street, San Pedro. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
